Lessons From Quitting My Day Job

It's been a year of ups and downs

A year ago today was my last day at the Wall Street Journal. I quit to go on a dream expedition to Antarctica and because I was burnt out. I wasn’t happy, although on paper, the job was everything I ever wanted. I followed through on the biggest lesson I learned in graduate school: If you’re not happy doing what you’re doing, try something else.
